Dear Members,

It is with heavy hearts that we, as the Board of Oregon Association of Early Learning Professionals (OAELP), announce the end of an era. OAELP Board members have had the privilege to support and serve all of you who work/have worked with Oregon’s children over the last 4 decades. After thoughtful discussion and years of change and reorganization, the board of OAELP has decided to dissolve.

This decision has not come lightly. We have watched our profession change dramatically over the years, long before the pandemic forced even further change. With fewer advocacy opportunities at the state level, we are no longer in a position to lead change and support early learning as our mission dictates.

Serving alongside the members of this board, and working with all of you, has been one of the greatest highlights of our careers. We will continue to work individually to support Oregon’s children and support the work of early learning professionals as opportunities arise.

Our Spring Conference, March 17-18, 2023 will be our final bow. Please join us at Agate Beach for a celebration of all those who have paved the way for each of us in our own work. We will be celebrating the countless accomplishments of the leaders before us. As we gather for training, we will have spotlights of recognition throughout the conference. If you would like to nominate someone to be considered for recognition, please send that information to Kelly at .

Thank you for your tireless effort, perseverance, dedication and compassion for the next generation.

With much appreciation,

Kelly L. Ace (OAELP Board President)
